Commitment requires creating long term goals and achievable action steps to help you achieve those goals. Commitment towards achieving these goals keeps an individual motivated. When you set your intention and refuse to allow obstacles to get in your way you open yourself to all the Universe has in store. There is no limit to your ability to create a magical outcome, but you must participate. Open yourself up to fully committing and expose your strengths and weaknesses. Because of this, some people are afraid to commit as they do not want to be weak or vulnerable. Below are five common reasons people do not commit & how to overcome them.
Commitment setback #1: You are afraid to fail
People who are afraid to fail usually experienced ridicule at some point in their past. They do not want to experience that feeling again. People do not want to be embarrassed by a plan not working out the way they hoped. They are worried about how people will view them if they fail. They do not want to experience that vulnerability. If this is you, it’s important to offer yourself praise and encouragement for even minor accomplishments.
Commitment setback #2: You are afraid of success
Most people do not envision their success. A full commitment requires a person to take on intimidating responsibilities. They get scared of their light shining brightly because it is a feeling they have not yet experienced. The Universe can create more success than you can ever imagine if you are willing to become a co-creator in your life.
Commitment setback #3: I do not want any discomfort
Most people are not committed to their physical health. This has manifested in the high obesity rates in the US. Most people are not committed to their relationships which is shown in a 50% divorce rate. Anything slightly uncomfortable turns people off. If you are one of these people you will need to start by taking small action steps toward your goals no matter how uncomfortable you become.
Commitment setback #4: I do not want to step outside of my comfort zone
Most people stay in their comfort zone regarding relationships, home environments, and many other daily situations. True growth can only come from discomfort, pushing yourself to do something new and trust your boundaries. If you never push yourself, you have only one idea of your true potential. The best way to begin this process is to develop a state of consciousness through practices such as meditation and mindfulness.
Commitment setback #5: I do not want to use up my energy
Some people believe if they use up their energy on a project that fails, they will not have any energy for the project that succeeds. However, if you have ever committed yourself passionately to anything, you have no doubt witnessed the more energy you devote to it, the more energy you have.
The Universe responds to the amount of energy you put into it, the higher your vision, the more you will achieve, as the Universe will mirror your wishes.
