Trends like french fry boards are tough acts to follow. However, might I bring your attention to – DIPS! Dips are great compliments for freshly baked, homemade bread, your favorite crackers, or chips. Of course, Ethiopian cuisine is already leagues ahead of us. These dip recipes, however, will steal the limelight of your next get-together or one-person party. Your bread/cracker/chip of choice will merely be a vehicle for the star of the show.
Difficulty: Easy, but be sure to pay attention to the tips!
All you need is a can of chickpeas, fresh garlic, tahini, lemon juice, salt, and oil!
Throw in extra garlic cloves, kalamata olives, spinach, or any of your favorite flavors!
Difficulty: EASY! All you need are the 9 ingredients, a microwave, and a mixing bowl & spoon!
If you’re avoiding dairy, switch out the cream cheese, sour cream, mayo, and parmesan for dairy-free alternatives.
If you want to make it slightly less unhealthy, try these options:
- 5 Minute No-Sugar Homemade Cream Cheese. This is great to use by itself on bagels too!
- 5 Ingredient Sour Cream. Non-dairy and made with a cashew base, pumping up the nutrition for any meal!
- Vegan Mayo. It’s made with avocado oil and soy milk. Of course, this is great for sandwiches as well!
- Vegan Parmesan made with cashews and nutritional yeast and spices.
