SUMMARY:DISTRICT Arts presents “50 Shades of … Everything” by Mark Johnson
DESCRIPTION:Mark Johnson can be found roaming the streets of downtown Frederick\, MD with his Nikon on weekends\, about every 4-6 weeks or so\, searching for new Faces Of Frederick. While Mark loves the “Faces” project\, this exhibition is all about color – the full spectrum\, from monochromatic grays to deep magentas\, and everything in between. \nThe exhibition runs from January 31 through February 25 and is free and open to the public. SUMMARY:Mobilize Frederick’s Second Annual Climate Summit  ​
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Hood College for the 2024 Climate Summit. This year’s program offers sessions focusing on climate change\, climate justice\, green schools\, and more! \nThe Exhibit Hall will showcase sponsors and local and regional programs\, innovations and solutions by public and private-sector organizations. Dedicated times for Summit participants to visit the Exhibit Hall include during the morning registration hour and from 12 noon to 1:30 pm on both Friday and Saturday. Tables and chairs for exhibitors are provided. \n​This year’s Summit will feature Ali Syverson’s solo art exhibit\, REALMS\, which explores the phenomena and art that the ecosphere offers to us in its natural state. More about Ali and her art: alisyversonart.com. \nFirst Lego League Innovation Challenge. This year\, we’ll have a team of 5th\, 6th and 7th graders from Urbana who have designed a presentation using technology and art to raise awareness about the dangers of global warming.
