SUMMARY:Frederick Holiday Lights Ride
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, December 19th at 6:00 PM at the Baker Park Bandshell for a fiercely festive ride around Downtown Frederick.\nEnjoy the decorated homes and show off your own ornamented whip. Riders are encouraged to festoon their bike with lights\, but the truly creative will go far beyond that. For the creatively dedicated among us\, there will be a contest for Best Dressed Bicycle – complete with prizes! \n\nSo that our holiday cheer benefits those who need it most\, all riders are asked to donate a gift card (CVS\, Walgreens\, Target\, Walmart) which will be used by the Heartly House to help victims of domestic abuse to have a safe\, healthy\, and happy holiday. Gift cards to other local businesses are welcome\, but Heartly House has identified these as having the greatest potential impact for those they serve. There will be a collection set-up at Bike Doctor and at the bandshell to collect these gift cards prior to the ride. \n\nOur ride will be approximately 4 miles around Baker Park in Downtown Frederick at a very casual pace (~6 mph) and is suitable for riders of all ages. Helmets are required as is a minimum of a rear blinky light. The updated route will be posted prior to the ride.\nFollowing the ride\, participants who are in the spirit will have the option to ride or drive over to Attaboy Brewery for our after-party.
