DESCRIPTION:Fire in Ice is one of Downtown Frederick’s largest annual events\, transforming the city with hand-carved ice sculptures\, fire performances and interactive winter attractions. Each ice sculpture is a unique creation crafted by skilled artisans and displayed throughout downtown. \nFriday evening activities include live ice carving demonstrations\, fire performances at the Carroll Creek Amphitheater\, and themed spaces such as the Polar Lounge and Ice Games Center. Saturday features an all-day Ice Walk with sculptures\, ice games\, food trucks\, scavenger hunts\, marshmallow roasting stations and continued access to the Polar Lounge and Ice Games Center. \nThe event also offers free shuttle service to and from designated remote parking locations\, traffic management for safety and flat-rate garage parking during peak hours. His mission centers on empowering communities through stories of environmental stewardship and the preservation of natural resources. \nIn addition to television\, Corwin is the author of ten books on wildlife and conservation\, including 100 Heartbeats and Living on the Edge: Amazing Relationships in the Natural World. His career spans work as a journalist\, producer\, explorer and wildlife biologist\, with extensive global field experience and collaboration alongside leading scientists. \nThis presentation is part of the Frederick Speaker Series\, now in its 13th season\, known for bringing world-class speakers to the Frederick area and fostering community engagement through meaningful and enlightening discourse.
