DESCRIPTION:National Clustered Spires: High Wheel Race\nThis will be a unique racing event set to take the streets of historic downtown Frederick\, Maryland on Saturday\, July 12\, 2025. Racers will be riding antique or modern high wheel bicycles in a criterium (multi-lap) race of along a 0.4 mile route through historic downtown Frederick\, MD. \nThe field of racers will be split into two 2 qualifying heats (20 minutes each). The top 20 to 25 racers who complete the most laps during their qualifying heat will move onto the final championship race. DESCRIPTION:About the Women’s Distance Festival\n\n\n\n\nIn 1979\, the RRCA started the Women’s Distance Festival series in response to the lack of distance running events in the Olympics Games for women. The first Women’s Distance Festival events were held on July 13\, 1980\, the date of the men’s marathon at the Moscow Olympics. Today\, the Women’s Distance Festival celebrates the history of women’s rights to participate in running events at any distance and at any age.
