If you’ve been wearing the same sweatpants for the last three weeks, you’re not alone. “Zoom Fashion” is the new fashion. Social events are cancelled and zoom meetings are the new normal. While at first it was nice to wear pajamas all day—it definitely got old quickly. So, why not take this time to have a little fun with your home fashion? Here are some creative ways you can dress up with what you already have—no need to leave the house. We’ll call this the new zoom fashion trend!
Look 1: The Zoom Meeting
If you’re working from home, Zoom is a great way to meet with your coworkers, clients, and friends. And since your screen only shows you from the chest up, you don’t have to wear a full suit or outfit. Wear your hair and makeup like you normally would for work and put on a nice top. But, that’s it! Go ahead and wear your sweats or pajama pants, the people on your screen will never know.
Look 2: Mismatch
A fun and easy way to cheer yourself up is to let out your inner three-year-old and dress up. Wear your hair in a style you would NEVER wear in public. Take out a top and put on a jacket that doesn’t go with it. Then put on a pair of pants or a skirt that doesn’t go with the jacket. Wear every bracelet you have and put on mismatched earrings. Maybe tie a scarf around your waist like a belt. There are no rules with this at home fashion! No need to be embarrassed about how you look because no one is going to see you…unless you post pictures. Plus, who knows, you might discover a new quirky outfit combo that you’ll wear out in public one day soon! (Fashion experimentation is how new trends start, ya know!)
Look 3: Be a Queen
Sadly, events like prom, weddings, and other big social gatherings have been canceled or postponed. You may feel like all the time and effort of picking out what to wear for those events was all for nothing. But it doesn’t have to be. Go ahead and wear that dress or tuxedo you got, do up your hair and makeup. Be sure to take pictures and videos of your dressy home fashion look. You can still get together with the other attendees through Zoom or Face Time and have a party in your own backyard.
Although it may feel like it, the quarantine won’t last forever. Dressing up and connecting with loved ones through social media can make the time go by a little faster. Treat yourself during this time, you deserve it!
