3 Ways to Increase Positivity and Experience More Joy

Did you know positivity has the power to improve your health and make you more successful? From time to time, there are negative instances that make it difficult to picture life through a positive lens. Maybe your car battery didn’t start, or you forgot to do an important errand. When experiencing these feelings of negativity, it’s important to focus on the positive. It may sound cheesy, but it works! I found that there are three fundamental keys that help you live the most positive life each and every day.

“I am” Affirmations

The first key is “I am” affirmations. One of the most powerful ways in which we can attract positivity into our lives are through “I am” affirmations. When you are experiencing a certain sentiment like sadness or happiness, repeat aloud the phrase, “I am ___”, and name the emotion you WANT to feel. The next time life throws you into a situation where you have a choice to feel positive or negative, remember to choose positivity. Repeat aloud what you want to attract to yourself daily and remember to be open to the feelings you desire.

Waking Up with Positive Purpose

The second key is to wake up with purpose. Not just any purpose, however, positive purpose. Positive purpose is any action you can do selflessly in order to make a positive impact on this world. Waking up with a positive purpose is something that will lead you in the direction of living a happier life because you will act selflessly instead of selfishly. Simple acts like watering your plants, smiling at a stranger, or even donating change to a homeless person, will go a long way for living a more positive life. Waking up with positive purpose is a key that can be practiced each day that will change your life for the better.

Viewing Negatives as Positives

The last key, and by far the easiest to comprehend, is to view all negative situations through a positive outlook. It is the easiest because no matter what circumstance occurs in your life that could be labeled as “negative”, there will always be a positive aspect to it. For example, let’s say your coffee machine broke when you tried to make a cup of coffee before work. You yell at it, hit it, and become thoroughly frustrated, but then realize it does not have to be a fiasco. This negative situation is not ideal, but now you can drink water and feel more hydrated than if you only drank the coffee. It is difficult to see the positivity in moments of worry, but if you take deep breaths and trust that everything will work out, then you positive is what you will be.

I am not an expert at life, but I find that these essential keys of positivity help me live a more fulfilling life no matter what negative situation occurs. All it takes is a few deep breaths and a willingness to change, and you will be on your way to living your most positive life. Positivity, I wish upon you.
