5 Summer Vegetarian Burger Recipes

Veggetarian Recipes

Summers are my favorite time of year to have big meals with friends. Once the sun goes down, the weather nearly always perfect and we can’t help, but eat outside! The grill is fired up, and everyone brings something to contribute. Check out five of my favorite vegetarian burger recipes, perfect for summer cook outs. These recipes come from food blogs that I love. Fun fact, all of these female food bloggers also happen to have incredible cookbooks.

Beet Burgers

Beets are currently in season, and you can easily find them at the farmers market. I love going to the market in the morning and then making these smoky vegan BBQ beet burgers from Blissful Basil before dinner with friends. Rich in chipotle seasoning, while drenched in homemade barbecue sauce, even meat-eaters will enjoy them.

Portobello Mushroom Burger

When I’m feeling rushed, and don’t have time to cook before a barbecue, this portobello mushroom burger from Love & Lemons is my go-to dish. The best part is that you can have fun with the toppings and create the perfect burger you crave.

Sweet Potato Black Bean Burger

Minimalist Baker was one of the first food blogs I started following and it continues to be a favorite. Always using 10 ingredients or less, her recipes are easy to follow and everything I’ve cooked has turned out deliciously! I’ve made these sweet potato black bean burgers about a dozen times. There are never leftovers when I bring them to a party.

Grillable Veggie Burger

This grillable veggie burger from Vegan Richa is the best one I’ve found for those who want to cook a burger straight on the grill. Most of my friends are vegan, and I love providing a burger alternative for the grill that they can eat.

Pulled Jackfruit Sandwich

Another one of my summer favorites in is Richa’s pulled Jackfruit sandwich. A vegetarian twist on pulled “pork”, the jackfruit has a similar shredded texture and once you mix in with bbq sauce and spices, it tastes surprisingly similiar. I recommend adding the colesaw on top of the sandwich for an extra crunch.

I hope you enjoy these vegetarian burger recipes all summer long! Looking for some additional summer burger alternatives? Try one of these delicious recipes!
