In The Streets Festival 2026
Celebrate Frederick brings the In The Streets Festival back to Downtown Frederick on September 12! For more than 40 years, this community tradition has filled Market Street and Carroll Creek Urban Park.
The festival began in 1983 after major renovations closed Market Street for several months. Mayor Ron Young launched the original celebration to welcome the community back downtown. The first festival attracted approximately 10,000 attendees.
Today, the In The Streets Festival welcomes crowds of more than 75,000 people.
Guests can explore Frederick’s restaurants, artists, performers, businesses, and nonprofit organizations throughout the day. Six stages will host live music and entertainment beginning at 11 a.m. Local restaurants will serve food along Market Street.
The Craft Beverage Experience will showcase local breweries, wineries, and distilleries.
Festival highlights include:
- The Market Street Mile road race
- Themed activity blocks throughout Downtown Frederick
- Live music and entertainment across six stages

- The Up The Creek after-party
The Market Street Mile will begin at 9 a.m. and welcomes both beginners and experienced runners. The main In The Streets Festival will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Craft Beverage Experience will run from noon to 5 p.m. The Up The Creek Party will continue the celebration from 5 to 9 p.m.
The In The Streets Festival offers a full day of food, music, community, and downtown entertainment.
