Your Ideal Fall Weekend Activity, Based on Your Zodiac Sign

fall activity

I don’t know about you, but the moment Labor Day ends, my mind officially shifts into fall mode. While the equinox doesn’t arrive until September 22, many of us (myself included) have already started compiling the ultimate fall bucket list. If you’re not sure where to start, why not look to the stars for a little inspo? Yes, we’re looking at your ideal fall weekend activity based on your zodiac sign. And for all my astrology nerds out there, don’t stop at just your sun sign (the one for the day you were born)—check out your moon, ascendant, Mercury, Venus and Mars placements in your birth chart, too.

Your Ideal Fall Weekend Activity, Based on Your Zodiac Sign

Aries: Take a Fall Foliage Hike

Aries is based after the god of war, which is the last sign who wants to merely take a leisurely little stroll. The classic Aries wants a challenging trail or a destination that makes the effort of the climb worth it. Pick a route showing off peak fall color near you, and lace up those hiking boots! Let your competitive side turn “getting outside” into a personal mission.

Taurus: Pick Apples and Bake a Pie

Taurus deserves a cozy day that hits the senses, preferably beginning in an orchard and ending somewhere near a warm oven. Slow down, and take the scenic route instead of the highway and work your way to a local farm. Pick your own apples, then use them to bake a homemade pie. Take the extra time to make your own crust. Add some mood music or a podcast and enjoy the moment of creating something handmade and delicious.

Gemini: Go Fall Festival Hopping

One activity for an entire afternoon? Gemini would never. Find a fall festival with local vendors, live music, seasonal food and enough happening that you can wander from one distraction to the next without committing to any of them for too long. Gemini is the ultimate socialite, so bring an entourage or make your own with the new people you meet.

Cancer: Visit a Pumpkin Patch and Decorate for Fall

Cancer loves a tradition, especially one that eventually makes home feel even more like home. Dip into the nostalgia of fall and wander a pumpkin patch.Choose the pumpkins and/or gourds that resonate with you, and bring your favorites home for an afternoon of seasonal decorating. You can spend the day thrifting, or even creating your own fall decor.

Leo: Make a Night of a Fall Concert

Leo refuses to settle for just an activity—they need an occasion. Find an outdoor concert or live music event. Take your time to put together the perfect fall night out ensemble and turn an ordinary night into something worthy of peak-autumnal energy.

Virgo: Shop the Farmers Market and Cook Something Seasonal

When a Virgo sees a farmers market overflowing with late-season produce, they immediately begin mentally coordinating a farm to table feast that can strategically last throughout the remainder of the year. Fill your tote with your faves, then head home to make a hearty soup. You can even preserve your haul or culinary creations with an afternoon of canning. You’ll transform your fall weekend with an activity that’s equally productive and cozy.

Libra: Take a Fall Floral Workshop

Of course our lovely Venus-ruled Libra gets the activity with the prettiest table. Sign up for an autumn floral workshop and spend the afternoon arranging dahlias, branches, and moody seasonal stems into something that looks suspiciously ready for a magazine spread.

Scorpio: Get a Tarot Reading

Scorpio season calls for a little mystery and introspection. And perhaps, a single card could make everyone at the table go silent. Book a tarot, past life, or any divination reading of your choosing with a professional. Or, if you’re a witchy type, pull out your own deck, light a candle, and see what the universe apparently needs to discuss with you.

Sagittarius: Take a Scenic Train Ride With Your Camera

If you’re a Sagittarius, you already know you need a little movement, a little scenery. You crave for a day that could take you somewhere completely unexpected. Book a scenic fall train ride, and bring your camera. Spend the journey photographing foliage, tiny towns, and whatever catches your eye along the way.

Capricorn: Plant a Spring Bulb Garden

Most of us, unless you’re a Capricorn, can at times forget that the best payoff usually requires planning ahead. A Capricorn would thrive in a crisp fall afternoon of planting spring-blooming bulbs. Afterwards, enjoy the deeply satisfying knowledge that the future-you already has something beautiful in the works.

Aquarius: Explore an Oddities Market or Fall Art Walk

Big shocker, but the last fall activity the ever avant-garde Aquarius ever wants is the one everyone else is posting on Instagram. Find an indie art walk, makers market, oddities fair, or offbeat seasonal event and discover the booths, artists, or objects nobody else in your group knew existed.

Pisces: Paint Watercolors En Plein Air

Pisces needs a fall afternoon that feels a little bit like disappearing into another world. Pack your watercolors and find a quiet spot surrounded by changing leaves. This could be a park, a lake, maybe even an old museum that you’re obsessed with. Paint en plein air with absolutely zero requirement that the finished page look like anything other than how the day felt.

Your Fall Activity Calendar Is Astrologically Booked!

You could spend another weekend saying, “We should do something fall-ish,” or you could actually romanticize the season while it’s here. Your zodiac sign has officially handed you a fall activity, so grab a friend, make that reservation, take yourself on a solo date, or finally put that suspiciously perfect weekend forecast to use—the leaves are not going to stay this gorgeous forever!
