The Intentional Entrepreneur: A Retreat for the Woman Behind the Business

As a solopreneur, it’s easy to get lost in the “to-do’s” and lose sight of the woman running the show. Most of us don’t need another generic action plan; we need clearer self-awareness and a smarter way to choose what deserves our focus.

Join us for a transformative 1-day retreat designed specifically for the Sass community. This isn’t a day of “performative networking” — it’s a high-connection experience to help you reconnect to who you are and leave with the tools to lead your business with confidence.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

You’ll leave lighter, clearer and more connected. Whether you are redesigning an offer, fixing a client boundary or deciding what to stop doing, you will leave with the aligned advantage you need to succeed on your own terms. Your experience includes:

FAQ’s

The Sass Business Retreat is designed for female-owned businesses in Frederick, Maryland and the surrounding region who have been working on their business full time for at least one year. Whether you’re a solopreneur or leading a growing team, you’re welcome here.

This is an in-person only retreat (no virtual option). If you’re traveling in from outside the area, you’re absolutely welcome to join us — just note that lodging and transportation are your responsibility. We’re happy to share local recommendations if needed!

This is a full-day experience, running from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. To get the most out of the workshops and connections, we ask that attendees plan to stay for the entire day.

Comfort is key. Think casual, cozy, and confident. All sessions are indoors, but you’re welcome to explore the beautiful grounds and walking paths around Thorpewood during breaks.

Early bird tickets are available through March 1 for $199.
After March 1, tickets increase to $249 per attendee.
Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Yes — and it’s simple! After registering, you’ll receive links to complete two short assessments:

  • VIA Character Strengths Survey
  • CliftonStrengths Top 5 Strengthfinder Test

Both assessments are included in your ticket price and take about 10 minutes each to complete. Your results will be used during the retreat workshops.

Because space is limited, tickets are non-refundable. However, you’re welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else — just let us know so we can update attendee details and send them the necessary info.

Yes! Multiple team members from the same business may attend, but each person must register individually. If you’d like to be seated together during workshop sessions, please let us know in advance.

Absolutely. We’ve built in several short breaks throughout the day, plus time to step outside, recharge, or enjoy some quiet reflection.

Breakfast is not included, so we recommend grabbing a bite before you arrive.
That said, coffee, tea and water will be available in the morning.

A catered buffet lunch is included, along with sodas. If you have allergies or dietary restrictions, just let us know ahead of time.

We’ll provide a journal, pens, worksheets and note pages — but feel free to bring your own notebook if you’re particular (we get it). Water will be available all day, but you’re welcome to bring a reusable water bottle.

Laptops aren’t needed for workshops, but you may bring one if you’d like. Please note: since we’re in the mountains, Wi-Fi can be spotty.

The retreat takes place at Thorpewood Lodge, nestled in the Catoctin Mountains and surrounded by forest and trails.

Address:
12805-A Mink Farm Road
Thurmont, MD 21788-1402

GPS can be unreliable near the mountain, so detailed driving and parking instructions will be emailed to you prior to the retreat.
