Boho Chic Decor Inspiration for Your Living Room

modern boho chic living room

Bohemian or Boho Chic was first introduced as a fashion style that drew from various bohemian and hippie influences, focusing on flowy fashions, natural fabrics, and earthy colors. Mostly associated with the 1960s and 70’s, it has a free-flowing and romantic aesthetic. But since then, the style has been embraced for interior decor and design. Boho Chic decor is for for those who want their homes to feel eclectic—filled with a mix of earthy palettes, different textures and patterns, and lots of natural elements.

What is Modern Boho Decor?

Modern or Urban Boho is an updated version of the style. It incorporates all the most popular elements of the bohemian style (a mix of textures and patterns, natural elements, greenery, earthy vibes). While adding a new spin by pairing those elements with a variety of unexpected modern decor (metals, modern color palettes, and more geometric patterns) and furniture.

Bohemian style living rooms are gorgeous if done correctly. They are heavily based on color matching, patterns, and textures. ‘Organized chaos’ describes bohemian design pretty well. Sure, boho can look like a whole lot of junk thrown together in a room, but there’s generally a point to all of it. Anyone who has lived on their own can testify to this!
