How did you get to where you are today?
The path to launching La Peony Clothing has been a mix of determination, creativity, and a strong belief in my mission. I began with the dream of creating a brand that not only provided beautiful clothing but also made a positive social impact. Over time, I’ve learned to navigate the complexities of the fashion industry, from understanding production and sourcing sustainable materials to building relationships with artisan communities in Mexico and the U.S. My journey has been about staying true to my values while embracing the challenges of entrepreneurship.
Who has made an impact on you?
Many people have influenced my journey, but my family has had the most significant impact. My partner Hector’s unwavering support, my children’s encouragement, and the artisans I work with inspire me daily. Additionally, mentors and friends who believe in my vision have helped me persevere through challenges.
What do you think has helped you the most with your success?
Integrity, passion for creative endeavors, a willingness to collaborate, and a little luck along the way! Staying true to my values and fostering meaningful connections with others has been the cornerstone of La Peony Clothing’s success.
What has been the biggest challenge you have overcome in order to achieve your goals?
Learning the fashion industry, production processes, and technology has been a steep learning curve. These challenges become even more complex when combined with marketing and managing social media platforms. This part of the journey continues to prove challenging but I am not alone. I feel supported and encouraged by the team that accompanies me.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of building La Peony Clothing, a brand that reflects my personal values of integrity, empathy, and social responsibility. Through this journey, I’ve created a platform that not only celebrates timeless, sustainable fashion but also provides meaningful opportunities for artisans and craftsmen in Mexico and the U.S. It fills me with pride to know that our work empowers communities, supports fair wages, and respects the environment, while offering women a sense of confidence and comfort through our designs.
What are three pieces of advice you could give to our readers?
- Stay true to your values and vision, even when faced with challenges.
- Surround yourself with people who uplift and inspire you.
- Embrace the journey and trust that every step, even the hard ones, contributes to your growth.

How do you try to make an impact? How do you reward yourself when you’ve reached a goal or after a hard day of work?
Through La Peony Clothing, I aim to support artisan communities, promote sustainable practices, and advocate for fair wages and ethical working conditions. I want every piece of clothing we produce to tell a story of craftsmanship, care, and respect for people and the planet while also boosting womens’ self confidence as they step out wearing LPC.
I love to unwind by spending time listening to my Audibles, enjoying conversation with friends or family, taking a long walk around the river in downtown Austin, or indulging in self-care with a facial or massage. These moments of rest and reflection help me recharge and stay motivated for what’s next.
