Tell us a little about yourself

My name is Krissy King and I’m from Pelzer, SC, a small town in the South East. I’m a wife and mother of three; 7, 5, and 3. I started a designer swimwear and couture wear  brand as a hobby a few years ago and since then have launched them into full brands that have been worn by influencers from across the globe.

How did you get to where you are today?

I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset, moving from one business to the next. I began as a dance studio owner, then transitioned into photography, and eventually became a fashion designer and fashion show producer. Throughout it all, my faith has been my guiding force, leading me to where I am today. Growing up, I never imagined this path for myself, but with a lot of determination, overcoming failure, and embracing trial and error, I’ve made it here.

Who has made an impact on you?

My mom has had a huge impact on me, as she was truly one of the hardest-working people I’ve ever known. She could outwork anyone and always did whatever it took to ensure that my siblings and I were well cared for. I owe my strong work ethic to her example.

What do you think has helped you the most with your success?

I credit much of my success to my husband. Whenever I started something as a hobby or just wanted to “dip my toe” into something new, he always pushed me to go further and aim higher. He constantly encourages me to be fearless and is my biggest supporter in everything I do.

What has been the biggest challenge you have overcome in order to achieve your goals?

My biggest challenge, and one I’m still learning daily, is balancing my work life with my family life. Being a mom and a wife is my first priority. At times, it can be overwhelming to manage and divide my time, ensuring no one feels left out and everything that needs to get done is accomplished. I want to always be a “present” parent and that has to come first.

What are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of my ability to overcome failure and rise above challenges to reach my goals and dreams. Every setback taught me valuable lessons, strengthened my determination, and shaped who I am today. It’s not just about the success I’ve achieved, but about the resilience I’ve built along the way.

What are three pieces of advice you could give to our readers?

1. Believe in your dreams. You only get one chance to chase them, so go all in. At the end of the day, you want to live without regrets.

2. Block out the noise. Stay focused on your goals and what you want to achieve. Don’t let distractions or negativity steer you off course.

3. Be a good person. It’s as simple as that. Treat others with kindness, and it will come back to you in ways you can’t imagine.

How do you reward yourself when you’ve reached a goal or after a hard day of work?

I do believe in celebrating the little victories along the way. My newest guilty pleasure when I reach a goal or need a little “pick-me-up” is diving into one of the many DIY projects I’ve saved on TikTok. I also love taking a stroll through HomeGoods with a Starbucks in hand—just a simple joy that always brightens my day! (Haha)
