color magic recipe
[disclosure]

We’ve all heard wearing red can boost our confidence, or that blue can create a more peaceful feeling. Basically, we see energy when our brain interprets certain wavelengths as color. Call it color therapy or call it color magic, color certainly has an effect on us. Chromatherapy, the use of color in a healing capacity, dates back to ancient Egypt and is still studied and utilized today.

To help you create a little color magic of your own this winter, we’re sharing several colorful warm drink ideas, as well as a kitchen ritual to help seal it all in. For an entire rainbow of colorful warm drink recipes, you can read the full article in our winter 2022 issue — The Woo Issue. These recipes are drawn from a combination of color theory, candle magic, the western seven chakra system, and aura imaging. Keep in mind that your association with certain colors may be completely different than the next person’s. And that’s not only OK, it’s super cool! Many cultures associate colors with different things. So, adjust accordingly. Magic isn’t rigid. Your intentions and how each color makes you feel should drive how you use these rainbow-hued beverages above all else.

The Ritual:

  • Gather a mug and drink ingredients, then light a candle.
  • Hold the mug in your hands, then visualize charging the mug with the energy you’d like to call in.
  • Make your beverage, but take your time, and avoid distractions if possible.
  • Before you sip, stir your drink clockwise three times and say one of the affirmations for that color (or feel free to make up your own)!
  • As you sip, focus on the color and also contemplate the actions you can take to help the magic manifest.
