Woman to Watch :: Neda Farr

Starcrossed

Neda Farr is the co-founder of Starcrossed and a lifelong student of astrology whose journey began at just 13 years old. What started as a curiosity sparked on Tumblr quickly evolved into a deep, decades-long study of astrology, with a special focus on soulmate and relationship astrology. By her teens, Neda was already sharing insights, analyzing compatibility, and exploring the deeper patterns behind human connection—long before it became mainstream on social media.

Her work gained a powerful new audience when she began sharing astrology content on TikTok, where her videos quickly reached millions of viewers drawn to her intuitive, story-driven approach to soulmate astrology. With a growing community behind her and a lifelong vision coming into focus, Neda and her partner set out to build something bigger than content alone—a spiritual platform that could bring astrology, manifestation, and intuitive tools together in one place.

That vision became Starcrossed, a modern spiritual ecosystem designed to make astrology and spiritual exploration more accessible, personalized, and meaningful. Today, Neda continues to lead the creative and spiritual direction of the platform, blending intuition, storytelling, and deep astrological study to help others better understand themselves and their connections.

Tell us a little about yourself and your story.

I’ve been studying astrology for over a decade—ever since I found it on Tumblr at 13 and went down a rabbit hole I never really came out of. I was running a grunge blog at the time, but astrology quickly became something I was constantly teaching myself and exploring in the background of everything else.

In high school, I got really into soulmate astrology. I started reading charts for friends, looking at compatibility, and noticing patterns in relationships that felt deeper than coincidence. At 23, I did a soulmate reading for myself because I felt ready, and I had a very clear sense of who I was meant to meet and how it would happen. Not long after, I met him exactly the way I had seen in my chart—he had worked at Snapchat and Apple, and from the beginning he believed in me and what I was building.

He encouraged me to start sharing on TikTok, and everything grew from there faster than I expected. That eventually became Starcrossed—we built it together from the ground up, bootstrapped everything, and left our jobs to bring it to life. Today, Starcrossed has grown into a spiritual platform with astrology, soulmate astrology, tarot, manifestation, rituals, and tools for exploring your spiritual journey all in one place, and we’re just getting started.

How did you get to where you are today?

My path to where I am today has been anything but traditional.

I studied Public Relations at the University of Southern California, then built a career in real estate in Malibu working with high-profile clients. While it looked successful on paper, I was most drawn to the marketing side—especially how social media was reshaping the way businesses and brands connect with people. That curiosity led me back to USC for a master’s in Digital Media Management, where I could better understand where media and culture were headed.

After graduate school, I moved into the entertainment industry, but I quickly felt the same limitations I had experienced before—systems that were slow to evolve and creativity that often felt boxed in. Around that same time, I met my soulmate, which became a turning point for me. It clarified what I had been feeling for a long time: I wasn’t meant to build within other people’s systems—I was meant to create my own.

Looking back, everything I had done—real estate, entertainment, startups, social media—wasn’t random. It all built my instinct for understanding people, storytelling, branding, and connection. Once I stopped trying to fit into a traditional path and started trusting that instinct, I co-founded Starcrossed with my soulmate. It became the place where I could finally bring together everything I love—technology, creativity, spirituality, and community—into something entirely my own.

What do you think has helped you the most with your success?

I think the biggest contributor to my success has been studying things because I genuinely loved them, not because I was obligated to.

I didn’t learn astrology because it was part of a plan—I started at 13 because I was completely fascinated by it. I would spend hours deep in birth charts, compatibility, and soulmate astrology just because I couldn’t get enough of it. The same thing happened with social media. I wasn’t studying TikTok for a job or assignment—I was studying it because I was genuinely curious about how it worked and how people connect through it.

When you learn something out of real passion, you naturally go deeper. You notice patterns other people miss, and you stay interested long after most people move on.

The other big shift for me was learning when something wasn’t aligned. I spent a long time trying to make certain career paths work because they looked good on paper, but the more I forced it, the more drained and disconnected I felt. Looking back, my body knew before my mind did—it was never about working harder, it was about being in the wrong environment.

Everything changed when I stopped forcing and started listening. I let go of paths that didn’t fit, and suddenly things started unfolding in a completely different way—I met my soulmate, started sharing astrology online, my audience grew, and Starcrossed was born. What I thought was success was actually resistance; real success came from alignment. Now I help others do the same through birth chart readings on Starcrossed, including a dedicated section focused on finding your own divine alignment.

What has been the biggest challenge you have overcome in order to achieve your goals?

One of the biggest challenges I had to overcome was proving that Starcrossed deserved to exist in an already overcrowded astrology app space. A lot of products in this industry treat astrology like a trend, so we knew from the beginning we couldn’t build something generic—we had to show we were offering something fundamentally different.

That’s why we started with soulmate astrology. I’ve spent over a decade studying astrology, especially compatibility and relationship dynamics, so I built Starcrossed around my own research and theories. Every part of the soulmate system was created by hand, from the logic behind planetary interactions to how compatibility is calculated. It wasn’t pulled from an existing model—it came from years of study and real readings.

We also had to prove ourselves to platforms like Apple and show that we weren’t just another trend-driven app. What ultimately changed everything was real user feedback—people sharing how accurate and meaningful their readings felt. Over time, those results spoke for themselves. Today, what makes Starcrossed stand out is the same thing that made it hardest to build at first: authenticity, depth, and a system rooted in genuine study and passion.

What are you most proud of?

What I’m most proud of is the real impact Starcrossed has had on people’s lives.

The most meaningful moments aren’t the downloads or milestones—it’s the messages from people saying they met a partner through a reading, left a relationship that wasn’t right for them, made a career change they were afraid of, or finally understood themselves in a deeper way. At its core, Starcrossed has always been about helping people gain clarity about their lives and what feels truly aligned for them.

So many people spend years settling because they don’t have the language or guidance to understand what they actually need. What makes me proud is knowing that Starcrossed has helped shift that—helping people trust themselves more, make braver decisions, and move toward lives that feel more authentic.

I’m also really proud of the trust people gave us from the beginning. Over 100,000 downloads in the first two weeks wasn’t just growth—it was belief in something that didn’t exist yet. And personally, I’m proud that I built this by following my instincts, with no blueprint, just a deep sense of what felt right and meaningful.

What are three pieces of advice you could give to our readers?

Trust divine timing and alignment

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that not everything is meant for you, even if you want it to work. If something consistently feels off or like you’re forcing it, pay attention to that. I spent years trying to make career paths work that looked good on paper but didn’t feel right internally. Everything shifted when I stopped forcing and started trusting where I was naturally being guided.

Build with people you love and trust

Entrepreneurship can be intense and isolating, and having the right people beside you makes all the difference. Building Starcrossed with my soulmate has been one of the most grounding parts of my journey. When you’re creating something meaningful, it matters to be surrounded by people who believe in the vision and genuinely care about you, not just the outcome.

Let your passion lead

The biggest changes in my life came from things I was genuinely obsessed with, not things I pursued out of obligation. I studied astrology for over a decade simply because I loved it, and the same goes for social media. Passion naturally leads to depth, and depth turns into expertise over time. Follow what pulls your curiosity—you’ll learn more than you ever could forcing a path.

You inspire us, but what/who are YOU inspired by?

I’ve always been drawn to what I think of as “little universes”: spaces that make you feel transported somewhere else or change your perspective and mindset. Growing up, I spent countless hours on Tumblr, and what fascinated me wasn’t just the content itself. It was the feeling. A collection of photos, colors, music, quotes, and aesthetics could create an entire atmosphere. It could make you feel like you were stepping into a different version of reality and life.

That idea has stayed with me throughout my life.

I’m inspired by art that creates a sense of belonging and connection. I’m inspired by worlds that people build around themselves through aesthetics, storytelling, rituals, and shared experiences. Whether it’s a photograph, a brand, a film, a beautifully designed app, or even a community, I love things that make people feel connected to something larger than themselves and carry it with them.

I think identity is shaped by the worlds we choose to inhabit. The spaces we spend time in influence how we see ourselves, what we dream about, and what we believe is possible for our lives. The most powerful creators understand that. They don’t just make products or content. They create experiences that people want to become part of and live through.

That’s ultimately what inspires me and what I strive to create through Starcrossed. I want people to feel like they’ve stepped into a world. A world that sparks curiosity, encourages self-discovery, and helps them feel more connected to themselves and the people around them.

I’ve always believed that life becomes more magical when we intentionally create the worlds we want to live in!

How do you reward yourself when you’ve reached a goal or after a hard day of work?

Right now, I’m especially excited about celebrating the launch of the new version of Starcrossed. We poured so much time, energy, and care into creating it, and I can’t wait to bring everyone together for a launch party. I love the idea of creating an immersive experience where people can talk astrology, meet like-minded friends, celebrate the journey, and step into the world we’ve spent so long building.
